Shwedagon Pagoda For World Heritage Listing
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture is making plans to nominate the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon for the UNESCO’s World Heritage Listing it is learnt.
The news report also said it could be listed as early as 2020.
The Shwedagon Pagoda is one of the most venerated Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar and legend has it that there are Holy Relics of (4) previous Buddhas enshrined inside.
